So, sometimes, the good luck scale can be tipped from time to time. I try to remember those who, while I may be having an orgasmically awesome month, others may not be so lucky. Because of this, paying it forward is vital to one’s existence. So to thank the universe for my good fortune, and help those having a tougher time than I, it’s time for Kia’s Karma Incarnate Weekend!

This evening, I’m throwing a poker party (not that kind, get your mind out of the gutter) / fundraiser thing for some really good friends who’s daughter Isabelle has been diagnosed with a rare degenerative eye disease. To help pay for her surgery, I am asking that everyone who drops by for poker give a little extra or as much as you can to help the cause. All winnings for tonight’s game will also go to the Isabelle fund. Hey, friends stick together and help each other where they can, and you’d better believe they’d do the same for me and my fam!

Anyhow, the Weekend O’ Karma will continue because I’m cleaning out my house and donating what I don’t use anymore to the the family shelter downtown. I do it every spring anyway, but as the saying goes, need has no season. I know from my weekly web stats that a LOT of you read my blog, even though you don’t comment, which is totally cool. (I’d prefer to be a cult favorite anyway. ) I also recognize that I have a hard time coming up with something clever and witty to say on the spot too, so don’t feel obligated, but because the point remains that I know you’re out there and you’re listening, so please don’t forget to donate to shelters in your hometown. In most countries it’s also tax deductible, though I don’t collect on it, because IMO, it’s supposed to be a selfless act and the only thing I intend to gain from it is the warm and fuzzy feeling you get from giving. (Dude, get your hand out of your pants, not THAT warm fuzzy feeling)

Anyhow, remember it only takes a small twist of fate to land you in the same unfortunate situation as Unfortunate Joe Panhandler on the corner, so do something good for your fellow man!

So yeah, everyone, turn off the WoW (ooh, wait, get that guy first…NICE!) . And don’t forget, fortune is as fickle as the wind, it may blow in your direction for a while, but one thing’s for sure: It can, and it WILL change direction! So pay it forward, folks!
